With the development of miniaturization and high efficiency of smt technology, all kinds of commonly used components are becoming smaller and smaller. The resistors, inductors and capacitors are difficult to distinguish in shape. So, how to quickly distinguish common SMT components?
1. The distinguish of inductors and capacitors:
(1). Color— Commonly, blask is inductors. Capacitors are black only for tantalum capacitors in precision devices, and the other ordinary capacitors are basically not black.
(2). Model code— The inductor begins with l, and the capacitor begins with C. If the shape is circular, it should be the inductor. If the resistance at both a few ohms at zero, it will be the inductor.
(3). Test— The resistance value of inductor is small, will not “charge and discharge” to make the multimeter pointer back and forth deflection phenomenon. But the capacitor has charge-discharge phenomenon.
(4). Inner structure— Looking for the same components, you can split the components to see the internal structure, and that is inductor which component have coil structure.
2. The distinguish of inductors and resistors:
(1). Judging by shape— The shape of inductor has multilateral shape, while the resistor is basically rectangular. When the component shape to be distinguished has a polygon, especially a circular shape, it is generally recognized as an inductor.
(2). Measuring the resistance value— The resistance of inductor is smaller than resistor.
3. The distinguish of capacitors and resistors:
(1). Color— Capacitors are mostly gray, green gray and yellow. Usually the yellow lighter than hard paper shell. Some capacitors do not have printed characters, mainly because they are sintered at high temperatures, so that they cannot be printed anything on surface.
(2). Symbol— The symbol for capacitor in circuit is “C”, and resistor is “R”.
(3). Test— Generally, capacitors have a large resistance, while resistors are relatively small. Capacitors have charge-discharge phenomena, while resistors do not.
